Due to some strange custom regulations!!!, only 0.2 M solution of AIBN in toluene (sigma-aldrich 714887-100ML) can be imported to Turkey and I need to use AIBN in a polymerization with another solvent (ideal thing was sigma-aldrich 441090-25G). What I need to do is to extract the solid from this solvent. I have never done that before. ~ 0.2 g AIBN is enough for me.
It is best to remove toluene Evacuation example in a rotary evaporator. The main thing is not to increase the temperature of the room above - at higher temperatures is a significant decomposition of AIBN.
Hello dear, thermal method is not adequate for it. You can use methanol for dissolve AIBN and then make a recrystallization process by using a mix of water and methanol. Finally you can dry this reactive by using vacuum drying. Best regards
