I am doing a qualitative study on Road Safety Involving various stakeholders. I have done indepth interviews with them. I need a standard proforma for writing the qualitative study. Can anyone suggest me the guidelines for qualitative research.
Dear Armarnath, before you can get to the article writing stage, it's useful to get an overview of some different approaches to qualitative data analysis, I would recommend the book by Braun & Clarke, entitled Successful Qualitative Research: A Practical Guide for Beginners (2013). They also have a good website with various leaning resources, and they have a chapter in the book on writing up research: https://uk.sagepub.com/en-gb/eur/successful-qualitative-research/book233059#contents. Ideally, you'd have an idea of which analysis method to use before conducting your data collection, but reality sometimes works against this... During my first attempts at data analysis I used thematic analysis, which can be tweaked for different purposes, including more or less interpretative approaches. There is no standard format; and if there was it would create a painfully boring literature.
I recommend that you find five or six good, peer-reviewed, journals in at least two disciplines that emphasize qualitative research (social work, education, public administration....) and read several dozen articles...then you will know what to do.
The following sources may further help, particularly: the analytic procedure/guidelines/reporting of qualitative data analysis (see: Spiggle, 1994, pp. 496-500; Perry, 1998, pp. 33-37; Ritchie and Lewis, 2003, pp. 219-293).·
