first i want to know what type of leaky wave antenna use in your design then the Existing methods of enhancing the dispersion sensitivity are limited by practical fabrication and design techniques
First of all i want to thank you for entertaining me in this regard.
I have designed a periodic leaky wave antenna on the recent platform SIW with cross slots etched on the upper part. For reference i am attaching a file. I am trying to improve the dispersion sensitivity by introducing meandered lines/periodic slots in between the cross-slots.
Since a you are taking slow wave type of antenna, that radiates at discontinuities or at every periodic boundary, the introduction of periodic modulations cause the wave to radiate continuously along the length. periodic structures generates a guided wave that consists of an infinite number of space harmonics (Floquet modes). Although the main (n = 0) space harmonic is a slow wave, but it also works for higher harmonics which is somewhat related to fast wave. So, in that case, dispersion sensitivity also depends upon harmonics.
Mam you were absolutely right that the dispersion sensitivity depends on the harmonics. For eg the LWAs designed on CRLH are working on n=0 harmonic is having higher sensitivity comparatively. But the problem that i am facing is that i have already designed a LWA on n=-1 and i want to make it dispersion sensitivite without changing its harmonics. Please help in this regard.
