C3D is a commonly used file format to store gait data. If you are looking to manipulate gait data from a C3D in Matlab, I would refer you to this link http://www.c3d.org/appmatlab.html

you probably find what you need there.

Dear Dr Abdelhady, in 2011 we have published on Gait&Posture Journal reference kinematic, kinetic and EMG data of healthjy subjects during walking at self-selected, very slow, slow, medium and fast speed, as well as during toe walking, heel walking, step ascending and step descending. Thank you for the file mmc3.xls. It is very  extensive data of joints.

However, I have a little confusion on how to extract data for femur anterior-posterior, medial-lateral, and distraction and compression translation. I need this data to recreate knee joint motion in Abaqus. Is there anyone had an experience on how to recreate a knee walking and  stair climbing gait in Abaqus. Please, advise.

These data sets are very useful for our research. We are working on a project to determine reference database for normal parameters in Iranian population.

For those who may be interested, we have recently published an open access dataset of kinematic, kinetic and EMG individual data of 50 healthy subjects during different locomotor tasks: walking at different speeds, step ascending/descending, toe/heel walking.
