To calculate the DEM of Difference between two DEMs of different time scales e.g. DEM1 of 2000 AD and DEM2 of 2019 AD, the two DEMS must be co-registered with each other. I am not working on the glaciers though. I am working on landslides and floods in elevation between 2000 m.a.s.l to 3500 m.a.s.l in Nepal Himalaya.
Please can someone tell me any open source software which can perform this task. Anything using R or Python or any other software directly dedicated for co-registration in lesser Himalaya.

Nasir Hameed Thank you so much for the answer. I am not sure if this method works for co-registration of glaciers only or other terrain like landslide or floods. Please can you tell me if it really works?
