I need the an academic support. I found this EDA is very interesting and I can research more. Many of my colleagues (statisticians) at my office say this field is not fundamental... I have graduated 3 PhD students in this field. Please help.
Your colleagues may not have the ability to view new things in the data, that is why they discourage you.
I have wide experience of data exploration for over 30 years.
Beauty of a data can be explored only through EDA. Only a good researcher uses EDA for better understanding of data. Any one who is interested in a NEW LOOK to DATA exerts for exploration of data. Through exploration of data you will definitely get new findings , new hypotheses and new diagnostic criteria/tools. Only incusitive minds do exploration. Such people are in creative people's category.
Exploration is normally done by persons who are More INTELLIGENT and morel Creative.

Pick up a textbook in scientific theory at the library. There you may find a few arguments to spice up the debate with your work friends. Hang in there!
Yes I have many of great references of its. Thanks. But I need the current Professors and Researchers in EDA....I knew the greatness of the EDA.
Mohd you have already added three PhDs to the academia, what is the essence of knowledge if it can be hindered by what others thought about a specific line of knowledge. I suggest you stay the course. What will the various branches of knowledge be if at the initial stage their progenators follow the prevailing norms at that time?
