The topic of my phd thesis is "Diversoty and characterization of dry root rot of chickpea caused by rhizoctonia bataticola" for which I have to study diversity.
At first you need to study the variation of the Dry root rot of different entries and then Analysis their significant difference.
After that you can extract their DNA by using CTAB method and Genotype them by using Fast-GBS then running linkage or association mapping for figuring out the loci association with the root rot.
Dry root rot of chickpea should be referred to as being caused by Macrophomina phaseolina and not Rhizoctonia baticola. Rhizoctonia should be reserved for species of mycelia sterilia with affinity to basidiomycetous species. The Macrophomina phaseloina is deuteromycete pycnidial fungus with Ascomycele affinity.
