It seems that these particles are formed in the shape of flakes with nanosize thickness.

Dear Naghibi,

a good idea of the size distribution can be obtained from electron microscopic images. As the crystals are anisotropic, you will need to find a way to avoid the preferential orientation to try to obtain the average thickness after analysing several crystals. The average diameter is easier.
