what can be the possible reason that there is no relation between self-compassion and prosocial behavior. it is hard to understand that how can it happen that you are kind to yourself but not intending to help others?
My guess would be that concepts like "self-compassion" are by nature ambiguous and so this means they are also polysemic. That is, they mean different things for different people. For some it might be general kindness to oneself, for others it might mean avoid judging oneself severely, even when it is deserved. There is also the question of whether this construct can be measured in a valid manner and if so, the best method for achieving this. These questions are not easily answered.
