You have a good idea. It would be helpful if you would add the following topics for this thread:
Mathematics (there are lots of inventions in the history of mathematics), e.g., calculator invented by Pascal (see attached image).
Optics (consider the telescopes and lens systems that have been invented).
Computer Engineering (consider the Bayer filter for digital cameras).
Very nice. It is a good idea to present many important inventions.
Good idea to combine invention at one place. Also include innovation.

I would like to disagree with @ Nishant regarding FB postings. If used wisely the postings in FB could also be used to educate your family and friends who are unaware of certain things. I agree with @ Krishnan that most of the FB accounts are being used for socializing . FB also creates awareness and advertisements for many products now a days. So utlimately its not a bad idea of starting FB account for motivating and educating those who have interest on science and research. Best wishes and good luck with your intentions @ Nishant.
Dear @Nishant, one way to solve the apparent FB access problem faced by many responding to your question is to use the RG Edit feature for your question. Then I suggest that you invite followers of this thread to post their observations directly on this RG thread.
