It depends upon what components are you are planing to extract. If the components are sensitive to heat and temperature I would suggest you to go for cold extraction.
Usually, in cold process the method used is by percolation. You can suspend you finally ground material in a cone shape percolator with a perforated screen/filter at the cone end.Allowing liquid to flow at a constant rate with continuous feed of aqueous extractant from the top.
Where as in hot extraction, the material is suspended in flask or reactor and steam is purged under constant agitation of the mass. Once the extraction is complete the mass is filtered through a filtering aid and the filtrate is processed further.
You can convert the aqueous extract (hot or cold) into a insoluble salts such as Calcium to isolate your product ..........but not sure what is your component here?or you can concentrate the aqueous under reduced pressure at low temperature to isolate your product.
