I have a surfactant type molecule and I need to compute and visualize the hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface. Could anybody please provide any idea?
May you can try something with contact angle goniometer....you may make your questions more clear to get better suggestion.
i could not understand your question properly.
but as much i could understand your question the smaller and water soluble portion (head group) which must have some charge could be hydrophobic and the other water repelling and without charge portion (tail group) could be hydrophobic part.
but again it may possible i could not understand your question what exactly you want to ask.
If you have synthesized a surfactant molecule, then you know the synthesis path and therefore approximately know what atoms it consists of. To clarify, do an elemental analysis. Then get "fingerprints" (gyrophobic and hydrophilic groups) using the IR spectrum, Raman spectrum. In a transmission atomic microscope they saw a benzene molecule. It is easier to work with her, she is flat and small. The surfactant molecule is large and it rotates, bends.
