In the beginning, I was using Cs2Co3 as a base and Xantphos as a ligand, I was getting my final products without any problem, but for another amine derivative, these conditions didn’t work, so I was forced to change these conditions. this time I used rac-BINAP as a ligand (0.3 eq) and Sodium tert-butoxide (2.0 eq ) as a base, I got the desired product in the reaction and it was confirmed by LCMS, in positive ionization, besides the peak of my product, I got also another peak of 655 which correspond to the mass of rac-Binap + mass of methanol as a base pic, in negative ionization I obtained the peak of my product as a base peak, I did the purification using 7/3 EtOAc /Hexane as eluent, the problem when I checked the mass of tubes which contain my product, the mass gave me only the peak of 655 (mass of rac-Binap + mass of methanol) and I didn’t find the peak of my product. This problem happened to me with 3 different reactions using different amine which I used rac-BINAP as a ligand.
