I have a 5m contour map for Hyderabad city,India.The firm has gave it to me as a .dwg file in AutoCAD.How to georeference it?

I have a 5m contour map for Hyderabad city,India. The firm has gave it to me as a .dwg file in Auto CAD. The .shx file(shape file) is missing and the firm doesn't have it. I am unable to georeference it in Arc Map. I converted the map to tiff, but as it is a 56 MB file, I am not able to see the grid points in Arc map. Can anyone please help me out with this.
