I got some diffraction data like d-spacings from TEM SAED patterns.
I'd like to know which kind of chemicals (crystal phase) consist of my catalysts.
Are there any free databases for identifying what types of crystal phases are present?
Tow options for free database:
1) the American Mineralogist crystal structure database: http://rruff.geo.arizona.edu/AMS/amcsd.php
2) Crystallography Open Database http://www.crystallography.net/cod/
1 is more geared towards minerals, 2 has many inorganic compounds.
Answer by Debora is recommended to get the information of crystal structure. Furthermore, If you do not know ur phases Id from SAED, you have to run xrd analysis to identify the phases present and match with the ICDD and ICSD or free COD database implemented in many xrd softwares such HSP. After that the d-space calculated from SAED using imagj or digital micrograph must be matched or close to the d-space obtained from xrd along certain plane.
From the TEM we cannot identify the crystal structure or phase,we identify only the shape and particle size and crystalline nature.
XRD is the only technique to identifying the crystal structure and percentage of crystallinity.
