My friends are suggesting use wt fraction. But many papers mentioned that volume fractions. Which is best?
Wt% is best and easy to calculate. Initially, you should measure the component weight. If the component weight is 1kg. i.e., 1000 grams.
wt% of reinforcement = wt of reinforcement / wt of component
wt% of matrix = wt of matrix / wt of component
If you consider 10wt% of reinforcement, you should use 100 grams of reinforcement and 900 grams of matrix.
You can include the wt% also in paper.
Thank you for quick reply sir. Pls send in detailed manual calculation may be on MMC or Natural fibre oriented rule of mixture if possible. My mail ID [email protected]. This may helpful for me.
Dear Sir,
Please refer this.
Rule of Mixture
Density of Composite = (Density of reinforcement x wt% of reinforcement) + (Density of matrix wt% of matrix)
This formula is applicable for predicting the tensile strength.
