I suggest that you should ground your research on some established theory. For instance, if you follow the philosophy of David Hume's A Treatise of Human Nature, then you will have something as follows:
Your theories would be built on:
--Perception, which is based on Images & Ideas (Awareness is involved here).
--The mind that forges "Relation of ideas" like the theorems in mathematics, and "Matter of Facts" like contingent relationships in science. (Theory of Knowledge is involved here.
--The system is driven by driven only or mainly by the passions. [Hume has this idea that reason is or ought to be the slave of the passions].
Based on what your research goal is, you can forge links between you schema based on Hume's empiricism.
I do not intend for you to be a follower of Hume, but to find a similar paradigm to link your concepts.
