My blank is an empty Tin capsule and my K factor is Cystine while I use sulfamic acid as a conditioner. I run consecutive blanks and also analytical blanks but the situation persists. I even changed my gases (oxygen and Helium) thinking that there may exist some impurities. But the other parameters i.e Carbon, Hydrogen, and sulfur are within normal.
Have you done the leak test? If there is any leakage in the system, even a small one, it may result such erroneous peak of nitrogen. And there are a no of way that may cause leakage. I have worked on Thermo instrument, where a small deposition of dust particles (from sample combustion) on the piston of auto-sampler created such problem. Sometime you have to run many blanks to ensure complete draining of the residual nitrogen from the system.
I work with a similar CHNS analyzer and there usually are two causes for such high nitrogen blanks.
1) Leakage
2) Copper wires in a reduction zone or reduction tube are fully depleted. Then an excess of oxygen from the combustion process isn't caught by these tiny copper wires and oxygen flows into the detector. Since the detector is TCD, which is universal detector, the oxygen is misinterpreted as nitrogen.
