I am working on pyrolysis of SrSO3 by the equipment as showed in picture as follow. A Al2O3 tube with sealing end was used in our test. A rubber stopper sealed at the end of this tube. There are two glasstube thought the stopper. The long one(tube B) is used for aerating N2, while the short one(tube A) is used for Air extraction.

I try my best to pump the air out, but the result I have obtained in pyrolysis experiment is SrSO4. It mains that there have residual O2. (without O2, SrO should be obtained.) However, I am sure that I try my best to clean the O2. Who could help me?

my process of pyrolysis list as follow:

1) close tube B, open tube A, pumped for 10min;

2) open tube B, open tube A, filled N2 with Al2O3 tube for 2 min when pump was working still ;

3) do this loop (step1-step2) 6 times, and elevated the temperature to Appropriate temperature with flow N2 ;

4) cooling with flow N2.
