I imported my SNP data successfully, but as I am trying to make my first scenario I keep getting the above error (At line 11, the number of words is incorrect) and it makes no sense. I'm literally copying what they have in the manual, but adding in 'samples' (populations) to match how many populations I have, but other than that it's exactly the same. No matter how I change it, I get that error. Any help will be appreciated. Below is the text I have in the scenario box. I'm just trying to get a basic scenario to build off. Thanks!

simple errors can be the origin of lost of time, did you construct this file by a text editor software as emacs, aquatics and so on....

I think it may be referring to the line you need at the top of your file that should look like this:
That is the number of males to females and the minor allele frequency. Also, you can put your project name in front of that.

Hi ! I'm currently working with DIYABC but it's the first time I use it for SNPs analyses. When I'm choosing the statistics, I found an input "From...." and I didn't found what it means, even reading the user manual. The only thing that I know is that when I change the input number, I change the error message I have while running the simulated data set. It can be "std::bad-alloc", or "i of type found in the datafile from position ....... This is perhaps due to the elimination of .... monomorphic loci from the original dataset". I spent the whole night trying to fix it but I failed, and the FAQ is closed. Do someone have any idea ?

The "From.." means which loci it will start using in the simulations. For example, if you have 500 loci, and enter from 100, it will start at your 100th locus and use all loci after that (or as many loci as you have chosen).
What I do, is subset my loci to 250, start at "From 1" then it will start at locus 1, and use all 250 loci.

I am also trying to use DIYABC with SNPs for the first time and am unsure about the input file format. I have used the package with mtDNA with ease but I'm not a bioinformatician and the explanations of format mean very little to me, I am more visual and feel both a visual and written explanation together might help me. I don't suppose you can screen shot how the file looks for me?
Any help you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Attached is a sample file. First row you have your sex ratio, then your minora allele frequency model. Next row you have column names, which need to be in this order IND, SEX, POP. Next, all loci column headers are A. All are space separated. Then below comes your data. Let me know if you have any questions.
