We used FCD to collect speed data in curves (https://www.researchgate.net/project/Improving-the-self-explaining-performance-of-Czech-national-roads-SAMO) or roundabouts (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/314512773_Development_of_a_speed-based_surrogate_roundabout_safety_measure). There are challenges with FCD, but of course clear benefits... I wish you good luck in your research - if you need some specific consultation, just ask!
