Also, the research by Reeves & Nass in the Media Equation, though it was published in 1985, establishes the foundation for the fact that all human demographics perceive the media as "reality"; i.e. social reality. Therefore, social decision-making in children is influenced extensively by unconscious cognitive patterns that are established by the media context in which they are immersed.
