I'm going to answer this from the perspective of a metrologist, and primarily as I haven't seen anyone respond, so your mileage may vary. (I hate having questions set open for months.) The short answer is yes and no. In general, you would set the interval not based on role, but rather on criticality. Patient life would be highest level, so shortest interval would apply.

If there lower or no patient danger, then you could set the interval based on usage. A pharmacist might be using data daily, a doctor once ever two days and a nurse once a week.

In that case, increasing the interval so you get comparable measurements would be appropriate. It's meaningless to have 1000 samples from one 50 from the second and 3 from the third. Then all of your results would either be overwhelmed by the one or overly influenced by the other. In calibration we have two methods, one by time, one by usage. 12 months or 500 uses. If the item is used 300 times a day, then a 12 month cycle is too long. If it's used 3 times a year, then 500 cycles would be a 167 year cycle. I home this helps.
