I am currently studing statistics and data science, how can choose a topic for master's thesis?

I want to work on a masters' thesis pertaining to Reinforcement Learning via Markov Decision Process. I am requesting for help or ideas about how to get started?

This is a new field for me because I did my bachelor's in economics. i asking about how to use RL via Markov Decision Process to solve Economics Problems considering the place I am The Gambia.

Since you are studying data science, a good starting point would be to code the basic RL methods for some examples. Once the need for RL application (sequential decision making) becomes clear, think of an economics problem that can be modeled as an MDP. I suggest reading a few review papers in your interested problem domain.
