We are studying two parasitic species, one parasitising on the gills of fish, and the other in the stomach. While it appears obvious to us that the stomach environment should be hypoxic in comparison to the gills, we failed to find any studies that actually measured the oxygen content in fish stomach.
We would appreciate any comments, or suggested papers, that may help us assess our hypothesis.

Observation is also very unique. Physio-chemical conditions between Gills and inside the stomach of the fish are highly different thus suitability / compatibility of the parasite matters a lot. Specificity of the host body region is also a characteristic of fish parasite. Some fish parasite prefers the highly vascularized body parts of the host.
