If i have a commercially available compound (with percentage purity: 50%), whose recommended dose for usage in soil is like: 250 ml/acre,, then how much weight/volume should i apply to mine experimental plot of area: 0.33 m2 with soil weight of 500 gram to maintain the same concentration as of th recommended one?
I am a little confused about conversion of the units: ml/acre ml/kg of soil
It would be easiest to just consider the area and not to worry about the weight of the soil. This is how I've done it in the past with potted experiments and it has provided good results. In that case the amount of product you need would 0.33/4046sqm *250 which equals 0.02ml of product.

its an indoor experiment, performed in pots,... i weighed soil while adding in pots
You have to convert the area in acre into m2, than only you will get the dose or rate for your experiment. but there is confusion about your area as well weight in gram. please check the rate or your data very carefully
Hi Maliha, please give some details of experiment as is it going to be spread on plants and/or going to be applied in soil. I will say the calculation area wise will be more reliable as per soil weight. Thanks

The best way is to consider the area for spray solution calibration.
Therefore the pesticide required = 0.0206ml/0.33 square meter.
Then if you are using the water as spraying media. common recommendations (300 litres/acre if soil applied and 140 litres if foliar applied.)
This calculation is for your pot
The amount of water required = 24.75ml/0.33 square meter area, if soil applied
The amount of water required = 11.55ml/0.33 square meter area, If foliar applied.

In my opinion consider area and forget about soil weight. What kind of sprayer you are using? If you consider spraying 20 gallons spray mix/Acre at 30 psi pressure and 3 miles speed/hr, you will need around 6 ml spray mix (water + chemical) to cover 0.33 m2 area. Here is the math
20 gallons of spray mix/ Acre = 75 liters/A (74.75 liters of water + 250 ml chemical).
0.33 m2 area will need = 6.11 ml spray mix (6.05 ml water + 0.06 ml chemical).
Since preparing 6 ml solution is difficult using 0.06 ml chemical, please consider making 1 liter of spray mix and then take 6 ml from that.
