Raman spectroscopy technique is frequently used for various application but its application to determine the gas concentration in adsorbent materials in an adsorption process is not developed to the best of my knowledge. Thus, I'm searching for a paper that can help me regarding this or anybody's comment contributing me as to the subject. Thanks.
Most likely determining the gas concentration in adsorbent materials will be challenging to achieve using traditional Raman scattering measurements, because it requires greater level of surface sensitivity. Possible approach might be to use either resonance Raman Scattering or Surface-enhance Raman Scattering, when the relative Raman intensity peaks are compared with those from sample with known gas concentrations for the same adsorbent materials, but with varying concentrations (or compare them with reliable Raman intensity calculations, should that be available for the materials of interest). It also might be useful to compare the Raman results with a surface techniques such as XPS (aka ESCA).
