It depends on half life period of the pesticide or herbicide which they applied..pesticide degradation in tobacco leaves is faster if systemic pesticide may retain longer time in tobacco leaves.
The translocation of sulfonylureas could to be increased when this herbicides are sprayed using a carrier (water) with pH above the respective herbicide'pka. In the solution pH near at neutrality, various sulfonylureas presents the water solubility greater than at lower pH. In short words, and directly answering your question, to facilitate sulsulfuron translocation spray it with a carrier solution with pH near 7 (when using this herbicide in post-emergence). The use of a medium-to-high spray volume (150 Liters by hectare) can help too (by better covering of the leaves with the spray).
Dear Giovani, I mean translocation in plant vascular system. because in cold condition (in 10 days after spraying) however this herbicide absorb but it dose not translocate to other goal points.
Correct are you, but there are various papers indicating that is better control of weed species when sulfonylureas are applied in the leaves (post-emergence, obviously) with a carrier presenting a pH around a neutrality (and not at lower pH as occour with various herbicides). One of assumptions of this fact is because at 'neutral' pH the solubility is increased (some sulfonylureas, not all herbicides), and then it is translocated 'more' rapidly to meristematic tissues. Other thing to consider in this issue: in cold condition is normal there are a slow flux in phloem (and changes in osmotic potential of leaves and its vascular system, greater activity of tissue-protecting enzimes, among others facts) and the herbicides can last a bit more to attain meristematic points (sometimes they even don't attain that place...) . OK. Again, good luck to you. Best regards, Giovani.
All sulfonylurea herbicides possess, have unique selectivity, a wide spectrum of action and a range of terms of entering (in the autumn, in the spring), sufficient activity at temperature more low 10°С.
Therefore I have been a little surprised that sulfosulfuron does not work at temperature lower 15°С.
1. I Advise to carry out the analysis of preparation form and check decomposition of reactant substance and рН. Hydrolytic stability sulfosulfuron at 25°C: pH 4 - 7d, pH 5 - 48d, pH 7 - 168d, pH 9 - 156d.
2. Solubility sulfosulfuron in water is varied depending on рН of solution: 18mg/l (pH 5), 1627mg/l (рН 7) and 482mg/l (рН 9). Advise number 2: it is necessary to prepare a working solution especially using deionized water with рН 7.
