It can link the crystallization (XRD) and polarization of the chromophore ?
If you use the "poling" of organic chromphores to develop nonlinear optical materials with second order nonlinearities, it is very important that your materials are not crystalline, because in a crystalline material you can not create an order by poling (a crystal has a proper order!), so in general for organic chromophores XRD is not a good idea.

Performing a transmittance measurement before and after polarization (or between samples polarized and not polarized) you can observe both a shift batochromic (in terms of energy) and auxochromic (in terms of absorbance) and correlate results to the isoorientation of dipoles (that are your push-pull chromophores). Anyway, there are a lot of studies in literature on this topic, expecially those onto nonlinear optical properties of second order of organic chromophores. In particular you have to consider that the interaction with a proper radiation of dipoles random oriented is different (tipically major) with respect to iso-oriented ones.
