I am going to publish a paper in an International journal, where they follow APA style. I have some query in writing author name in the methodology. I have used one of the scientists protocol published in a paper. for example
"RNA was used to determine hTR and hTERT gene expression using Quantitative real time one-step reverse transcriptase PCR (Applied Biosystem). Primers and the TaqMan probe for hTR, hTERT and GAPDH (housekeeping gene) was designed as described in Yajima et al, 2000 protocol (Yajima, T., Yagihashi, A., Kameshima, H., Kobayashi, D., Furuya, D., Hirata, K., Watanabe, N,1998 ;Yajima, T., Yagihashi, A., Kameshima, H., Furuya, D., Kobayashi, D., Hirata, K., & Watanabe, N, 2000)".
I am having a feeling that it is not correct.please help me
You cite the protocol twice. The first time as in-text citation and afterwars as normal citation. I would stop after the in-text citation: "...as descibed in Yajima et al., 2000."
Please note the dot after "et al.", which is the proper use of "et al." in the APA style. In addition if you would use the normal citation in parentheses you would use "et al.", too.
There more subtleties of using the APA style, of course ;)
Normally the journal provides exact instructions how to write the article or there is a template for writing in LaTeX, but actually you won't have to care about such things, if you are using a program like Endnote or Jabref (or any program for managing your references). They would take care of the formatting.
