I am measuring 1,4-dioxane concentration using head-space GC-FID. I would like to know the best way to wash the syringe after injecting 1st gas sample to avoid the possible contamination during the measurement of other samples.
It is true that some part can adsorb on the walls. Hamilton offer a heates block that is connected to vacuum. You can make yiur own home-made interface to a vacuum source ended with GC membrane. Connect your syringe to such an interface. Generally even fkushing wirh few volemes of inert gas should be effective.
