I want simulate a special type of converter, for that I need GaN (Galium nitrate) switch. I searched in PSIM but didn't find that. Can anyone tell about any software where I will find the switch? Thanks.
Hello Tusher, If you're looking for software tools to simulate GaN switches, here are some options:
PSIM: You mentioned searching in PSIM but didn't find GaN switches. PSIM is a popular simulation tool for power electronics, but it might not explicitly include GaN components. However, you can still model GaN switches using generic components (such as MOSFETs or IGBTs) and adjust their parameters to mimic GaN behavior.
SPICE-based Simulators: Tools like LTspice, PSpice, and SIMetrix are SPICE-based simulators widely used for circuit simulation. While they don't have specific GaN models, you can create custom GaN models or adapt existing models to represent GaN switches.
Custom Modeling: If you can access device datasheets or SPICE models for GaN transistors (such as EPC eGaN or GaN Systems devices), you can manually create subcircuits or behavioral models within your preferred simulation environment.
Commercial Tools: Some commercial simulation tools, such as ANSYS Simplorer, Saber, or Keysight ADS, offer advanced power electronics modeling capabilities. These tools may have built-in GaN models or allow you to import custom models.
When simulating GaN-based converters, pay attention to parasitic elements (like package inductances) and ensure accurate modeling for reliable results.
