Iam not getting how to give dead time in single phase inverter operation via TL494 IC. I tried giving some voltage on DTC pin(4) but not getting dead time between complementary signals. So, please if anyone used TL494 for the same purpose, please help me.
Here iam attaching connection diagram of TL494 and complementary outputs(pin 8, 10).
switching freq= 200kHz
output has taken from pin 8,10 in single ended mode(parallel mode)
DTC pin is initially grounded to get 3% dead time (150 ns). Later i tried giving some voltage on the DTC pin. Still, the dead time is not coming.
You can set the dead time inserting the resistor between DTC (dead time control) pin and GND.
only resistance is enough?? or we have to apply some voltage at that pin?? I tried applying some voltage at that pin as given in datasheet but not working..

By inspecting your waveform I could see that they are not equal in width. The lower one has smaller pulse width than the upper one. There is delay between the fall edge of the top pulse and the rise edge of the bottom one. The dead time is normally a very small time compared with the cycle time. It is just to avoid that the two transistors becomes on at the same time. So it satisfies the condition break before make. If you want to be sure from the break before make just measure the collector current. It must not contain glitches.
