Hello,

I am planning to use ITS as a feature extraction method for my EDA data. I have two baselines and several experimental conditions. The duration of most of the conditions are relatively consistent across participants but there are some where we needed to pause due to outside noises or noncompliance. I understand the basic statistical theory of ITS and am I certain I can execute this in SPSS. I collected my data in AcqKnowledge and I am not faced with some questions regarding preparing the raw data for the ITS data extraction. I am trying to extract the SCL and SCR rate to then calculate the effect size of the difference in these EDA measures between baseline and the various experimental conditions.

1. Since I am using ITS for data extraction and not for a group analysis, do my conditions need to be the exact same duration between participants?

2. Do I need to divide my data into epochs? If so is there an advantage to shorter versus longer epochs?

3. What do I do with the data that is related to a pause during an experimental condition? For example, I had a ~10 second pause to prompt a participant to put their hands back on the table and then we resumed the experimental condition (mom applying deep pressure to the child's arm).

Attached is a summary of the data analysis plan with the Abstract and the equation for the ITS feature extraction for each of the studies (conducted one following the other, each with their own baseline period).
