I wan to use two-way ANOVA :
•Groups: A*, BFS, ACO, GA, PSO, TabuSearch.
•independent variables: map size and obstacle ratio.
Map Size could be (8X8, 16X16, 32X32, 64X64, 128X128, 256X256 )
Obstacle Ratio could be( 0% , 20%, 40%, 60%)
•dependent variables: path length, run time, number of visited cells.
However, most of the resources indicate that the independent variables must be categorical and not continuous values.
Do map size and obstacle ratio here continuous or categorical ? Please recommend or refer me to the resource (book or papers are preferred).

•3-way ANOVA ==> 2^3 -1 = 7 null hypothesis
•For the three-way ANOVA, the main effects are factors A, B, and C.
•The null hypotheses are:
1.There is no effect of factor A (variety) on the response variable (There is no effect of factor Algorithm on the path length).
2.There is no effect of factor B (variety) on the response variable (There is no effect of factor map size on the path length).
3.There is no effect of factor C (variety) on the response variable (There is no effect of factor obstacle ratio ).
4.There is no effect of factor AB (variety) on the response variable (There is no effect of factor Algorithm map size on the path length).
5.There is no effect of factor AC (variety) on the response variable (There is no effect of factor Algorithm obstacle ratio on the path length).
6.There is no effect of factor BC (variety) on the response variable (There is no effect of factor map size obstacle ratio on the path length).
7.There no interaction between factors ABC (There is no interaction between factors Algorithm map size obstacle ratio).

How can I decide which algorithm is better than other? which test I need?
I have read that post hoc analysis is useful, but which one?
can you recommend a textbook explaining that?
