I have asked 100 students as to which among the 5 items they preferred in choosing the venue of the next seminar, they are given the option to choose any that they like. The data that was gathered is shown in the attached picture. The variables in the study are (Gender- F or M, Yr Level - Gr 6 or Gr 7, and the Options 1-5). My question is what statistical test would show if there is a significant difference between grades 6 and 7, and between male and female, with respect to their preferences (within variables)? or is it more sensible to test if there is significant difference with the preferences by gender vs by yr level (as a whole)?

I was looking at binomial test of preference but it is only true if you have two options, in this case I have 5.
