Recently I came across a Journal paper in Cell, after reading the paper I had some questions in the technique that they are using, I send an e-mail to the corresponding authors regarding it and it has been long since I sent it. Is it wrong for me to ask something like this? What will be the best way to approach or ask for correspondence from a journal author?

As Aceil mentioned, sending a letter to the editor is one approach. The corresponding author may simply not have seen the email due to a number of reason (e.g. retired, changed institutions and email address, typo in the email address), or has forgotten about it due to his/her busy schedule and responsibilities.
However, editors are busy people too, so I suggest doing a little more leg work first. Search for the author's professional website, and check if he/she is still active and verify the email address. Then you could send a second email as a follow up to the first. If the author does not respond in a reasonable amount of time (e.g. two weeks), try contacting another author on the paper. If this is not fruitful, then contact the editor and briefly explain the steps you have taken to make contact.

i find it usefull to always state in my request article the name of the paper, the journal published and the pmid. Furthermore, given the fact that you actually request and article you should probably be able to insert it in you references. Adding this specific point to your e-mail letter increases the probability of receiving a positive answer.
You should never forget that many researchers receive spam mails from so called institutions, laboratores etc. You should be able to differentiate your e-mail from these ones. I find that listing the aforrementioned statements in your e-mail significantly decreases the possiblity for your e-mail to be taken as spam.

Write comment expressing your doubts in the same journal. The editors will send it to the author (s) for their response, in this way you may be in correspondence with the author (s).
