How to synthesize 3-chloropropyl trimethoxy silane functionalized silica?

I have synthesized 3-chloropropyl methoxy silane (CPTMS) functionalized silica. But the characterization in FTIR does not show any peaks for CPTMS attachment. Please let me know what could be the error in my synthesis procedure. I used silica+toluene+CPTMS and refluxed for 24 hour. After that I washed with more toluene and vacuum dried it.

Could you please post your FTIR spectrum? You should see both CH2 stretches and a C-Cl stretch.
