How to stop metal oxide semiconducting (MOS) materials from leaching color in DI ? OR how to remove ions responsible for color leaching in DI+MOS sol?

Some of the MOS's have chemichromism or thermochromism property and in DI water solution they leach color which hinders the optical measurement techniques.
