Long-lived gases that remain semi-permanently in the atmosphere and do not respond physically or chemically to changes in temperature are described as "forcing" climate change. Gases, such as water vapor, which respond physically or chemically to changes in temperature are seen as "feedbacks."We are facing several problems like shrinking ice sheets,declining Arctic sea ice, ocean acidification,warming of ocean,temperature rise and sea level rise etc.

@Lala Behari Sukla, very important question for all of us, indeed. In my opinion, "unpredictable" should be addressed first by Research & Development institutions. Politicians should make climate change issue their priority by framing supportive legislation. Teaching organizations should develop special courses to contribute effectively and so on. In short, every one has to be part of the team to combat challenges posed by climate change .
Over 190 countries engaged in negotiations will meet in Lima this year and in Paris in late 2015 by which time they hope to unveil a pact that will curb emissions enough to avert a 2-degree rise in the average global temperature by 2100.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon said that $2.3 billion has been pledged to the Green Climate Fund, but the amount was well below the $10 billion aimed for by year-end let alone the $100 billion a year aimed starting in 2020 to help poor nations cope with rising temperatures and disasters.

With cyclone Hudhud intensifying into a “very severe” cyclonic storm, authorities in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on Friday ordered evacuation of people from coastal areas. As the cyclone was due to hit the two states on October 12, rescue teams were also deployed at vulnerable points. Weathermen predicted “very heavy” to “very very heavy” rainfall in coastal districts of the Andhra Pradesh and Odisha as Hudhud, building over the Bay of Bengal, slams into the two states packing winds with speed of up to 155 kmph.
