Dear all:

I am working on a Frequency selective surface(FSS) structure where it is needed to identify its pass and stop bands using S11 and S21 coefficients .

To double check my simulation set up in CST MWS, I re-simulated the published work, in which they positioned the resonator structure inside a hallow wave guide but i am getting different results. Their simulation set up is: perfect electric and perfect magnetic boundaries in the directions orthogonal to the direction of propagation, and they used a plane wave as an excitation source to get the S-parameters. I wonder how is it possible to get S-parameters using a plane wave excitation? or i am missing something out?

Here is what i did to get S-parameters: PEC and PMC boundaries in the directions orthogonal to the direction of propagation, and two wave guide ports in the propagation direction.

The reference paper title is: "Isolation Enhancement in

Dual-Band Microstrip Antenna Array Using

Asymmetric Loop Resonator" which can be accessed through IEEE.org.

Thanks in advance.
