I would like to simulate oxgen combustion in gas turbine using Aspen one. What calculation and/or which reactor should I use, because using Rgibbs gives wrong results. For example ( mass flow constant- assumption ) for O2=21% and N2=79% I got only 40 Celsius degree lower temperature than for O2=100%, which is of course absurd. Additionally for higher temperature is smaller efficiency. Any suggestions ?
Pawel, It hard to believe Aspen Gibbs reactor could get this so wrong. Could you tell us the composition and rate of the feeds (including Hydrocarbon, air or O2) and products from the Gibbs reactor and the gas turbine inlet and outlet?
a) Inlet:
*natural gas: CH4 100% -2,5 kg/s
*air: 79% N2, 21% O2 -124 kg/s
Outlet:
H2O 7%, CO2 3,5% N2 76%, O2-13% and temperature 1113 Celsius
b)*natural gas: CH4 100% -2,5 kg/s
* 100% O2 -124 kg/s
Outlet:
H2O 8%, CO2 4% , O2-88% and temperature 1147 Celsius
Rgibbs: calculate phase and chemical equlibrium
O bar , 0 heat duty
Additionaly for O2 100% inlet -there is lower output power
How to change calculating options ? because for 100% O2 temperature should be much more higher. Am I right ?
