I am trying to simulate crack growth in metal plates (CT) under cyclic fatigue analysis. I am using the XFEM approach for an existing crack, so, is it enough take into account the damage initiation due to Traction Separation Laws (Max Principal Stress), or I need to use Hysteretic Energy/Ductile metals?

Can you give me some advices for the modelins?
