We are working with EPR spectrometer Radio-pan H102. We use ruby in the role of reference. If we determine well regime of registration of absorption signal for ruby, then for studied sample, we can registry signal of only absorptive component? No dispersive component anyway?

Yeah, ruby is on the wall of cavity, where the B field is opposite of the B field in the center of cavity (where the sample is). My question is on the correct setting of absorptive signal phase for studied sample. If we set the phase of recording regime on the basics of ruby phase, we can get only absorptive signal (dispersion component is suppressed)? Thank you!

(EPR) “Radio PAN Se/X-2543” in X− band on the frequency f = 9.32 GHz
was used. The polarized alternating magnetic field with the amplitude of modulation
∆B = 0.1 mT and the frequency f = 100 kHz was applied to the sample.
As a result, the first derivative of the absorption line was registered, that
increases the signal to noise ratio [57]. Measurements of the value of the polarizing
field were performed by the nuclear magnetic resonance magnetometer
and Hall sensor, the frequency was measured with the wavemeter. To control the
quality of the H102 resonator and tune the phase of registration of the magnetic
resonance signal of the ruby crystal (Ry) located on the wall of the resonator
was used. The investigated samples were located at the resonator center. The
measurements were performed at room temperature at dark in air. The orientation
of the samples in the external magnetic field was characterized by the
polar angle θB between the magnetic induction B and normal to surface of the
sample nz, see Figure 14a. Therefore, when the magnetic field was applied perpendicular
to the NW axis, i.e. parallel to the surface substrate, it corresponds
to θB = 90o
(in plane (IP) configuration, see Figure 14b). The magnetic field
orientation parallel to the NW axis means θB = 0o
, which corresponds to the
out of plane (OOP) configuration, see Figure 14c.
