The composition of silicon dioxide is 1.5% while calcium carbonate is 95%. The main aim is silicon dioxide free product. There is a chance of calcium silicate formation which would form a slag. How can I recover it without altering the quality of the calcium carbonate?
By Wash the sample with diluted hydrochloric acid at a concentration of 10% to dissolve the carbonate materials and keep the silica materials.
You could use heavy liquids to separate quartz from calcite, given their different density leaving intact both the two phases
You have a lot of calcium carbonate material to get rid of. The acid treatment as suggested by Prof. Falah Abed Al-Miamary would be one good way to separate out the SiO2, but maybe expensive.
You can use the HCl acid10% to remove the carbonate by dissolved and the SiO2 remains ,but this way not separate method ,I think you can do(separate) by density method

I would like to ask whether any difference between using 10% and 37% HCl solution. In my case, I used 10 ml HCl 37% to remove calcium carbonate from silica in pvc membrane filter. I added 10ml HCl and 5ml 2-propanol. After washing sufficiently with 30ml water, I left the filter in the oven at 600oC for 2h. I lost about 60-70% silica. IR spectrum showed some unknown peaks and CaCO3 peaks
