dear RG members, I have a mixture of two metal complexes one is monometallic and other one is bismetallic. can you let me know how can I separate both. column chromatography is not possible as both are soluble in DMF, DMSO only. I have mass spectra of mix mass peaks and XRD structures too. Also increase the metal molar ratio to dominate biscomplex but always a mixture produce. please give some solution. Thanking you.
The question arises whether it would not be more reasonable to find the crystallization conditions for the two compounds. You pointed out that increasing molar ratio of metal favored biscomplex. What crystallization procedure do you use?
Crystallization procedure was same for both. Slow evaporation. But I don't need crystal.
A R Rayasingh maybe you answered your question. Upon slow evaporation and solid formation, the molar ratio of constituents in your solution changes. This might result in admixture formation possibly. Try cooling crystallization whether a change in temperature has an effect.
