I have two metals:copper and Aluminum and also respective velocity loss (dependent variable), porosity (independent variable) and PPI (independent variable). I would like to run categorical regression analysis in R. Can someone please help me?

I think a logistic regression might be a good place to start. You can run this type of regression using the glm function in R. You'll need to use the bioniomial family (family=binomial(link='logit')).
