I am modeling a cylindrical block of soil to which I am trying to establish the initial stress state. I assume the soil to be sand with negligible cohesion.The model runs fine when I define my soil material using elastic properties only. However, the model runs into convergence issues when I include plasticity using Mohr Coulomb. I receive warning messages notifying that the plasticity/creep/connector friction algorithm did not converge at x number of points and the analysis stops. Any advice on how to tackle this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

have you tried to decrease lncrement size. which solution are you using (static general, riks, dynamic implicit or dynamic explicit?
You may troubleshoot such problem as follows
- Check the time increment size and decrease it if possible,
- Improve the quality of your mesh and use smaller element size.
- Check the large deformation ((nlgeom option) and activate it if yo need to.
- Make sure that the material parameters are correct
