Hello,
I know this question is not real science but we all fight during our days with the equipment in the lab. We defrosted our -80C freezer (Brunswick) and replace the gasket because it wasn't sealing very well. Now that we have the new gasket it is on each side about 5cm longer than the gap it should fit in. The company says that's correct and the installation is tricky and wants 600 pounds for the installation. Of course, we would like to use this money otherwise. Does anyone has experience with this? How to shrink it to get it in? Or have you seen an engineer doing it? I am happy about every hint and help.
Thanks. BW Silke
