I have electrospun TiO2-PVP Nanofiber and calcinated at 450 deg C to get TiO2 NF but after calcinating at 450 deg C I was able to find some ash (denatured polymeric layer) on the top. I need some suggestions to remove it.
After calcining, PVP is converted to coal. Coal is usually hydrophobic. Therefore, it is best dispersed and washed off with a hydrocarbon solvent, hexane or petroleum ether.
In principle, depending on the support used, nitric acid diluted 30% in water can be used. If the substrate does not allow HNO3 treatment, the problem is complicated. Sometimes these deposits have been removed by scratching the surface ... but this is not the most convenient ...
